FEMALE GRAFFITI ARTISTS
29th April – 1st May 2011

The Ladie Killerz event is essentially a program of events spanning across 3 days, showcasing woman in hiphop and in particular graffiti. Confirmed aerosol artists currently number at 25 (with ladies traveling from; Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, + Adelaide,) and many more female artists are submitting work into the art exhibition.

Friday 29th April is the opening night, kicking off with an art
exhibition and sale at the One Five Faction. DJs on the night,
Plutonic Lab and DJ Ernest, will be spinning a selection of hip
hop, dub, funk and soul from 6pm - 9pm.

Saturday 30th April comprises of the workshop program,
market stall, block party, and of course the commencement of
the graffiti production mural. Ladie Poise (WA) + Ishk (SA) will
conduct graffiti workshops from 10am-midday. Market stalls,
featuring a range of arts and crafts from local and interstate
artisans, (as co-ordinated by Nicole Tattersall,) from 10am-
3pm. Block Party featuring an all female lineup including DJs
Alexandra, Avant Garde, Tuffy, Joske the Hater and the Lady
Fingers Crew featuring: Ms Ja, DJ Selectress + DJ Et Cetera from 5-11pm.

Sunday 1st May is the last day for the ladies to complete the
graffiti production wall. BBQ, beats and beers! 10am-6pm

Ladie Killerz is a weekend long, traveling festival, celebrating ladies and their killer skills in all things art, music, film and graffiti!
Ladie Killerz started 4 years ago as a bunch of likeminded, graffiti loving, girls with a taste for trouble, a need to paint, a love of the party and a hankering for a change of scenery. Since the original gathering and paint ja...m in Brisbane, Ladie Killerz has also hit Adelaide twice now and grown into a 3 day festival. The festival in the past has included an all ladie art exhibition and sale, live music gigs, a film fest, and a chance to PARTY and meet other likeminded artists from around Australia, and have- the REASON were all here - a MASSIVE all ladie graffiti paint jam!!

This year –Melbourne - will host Ladie Killerz!
from Friday 29th April - Sunday May 1st 2011, and will be held at The Faction, 1-5 Wightman St Footscray

This years LK will include an art exhibition and sale, a huge opening night party incl dj’s (acts to be confirmed) and performers and MASSIVE paint jam which includes some of your fave ladie graffiti artists from Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and of course Melburn. It is looking like it’s going to be the biggest yet!

Contact Sam or Joske about spot availability on the wall(s)…we may have to find some more room to fit everyone - hit me back to confirm and whether you want to do pieces or charos- so we can get an idea of numbers and space.
*Ladies wanting to paint will have to supply their own paint and STICK to the production theme and colour scheme!! Ugh.
We will let you know these closer to the day and we can pick up paint pre ordered by interstaters from Giant or This Is It here in Melburn for them.

All female artists of all mediums and styles are invited to participate in the Ladie Killerz exhibition!
It is FREE to exhibit.
Limit of 3x pieces per artist. (no bigger than 1.5m x 1.5m please!)
15% commission goes to gallery from sale of artwork.

Hey Ladies!

Things are heating up around here. Nish has secured a massive legal wall (fuck yeah!) and is busy sorting out beer sponsorship (holy shit!) Poise is finalizing the exhibition lineup (contact her ASAP if you haven't already done so.) and I'm picking out some fantastic films with PJ to screen for ya'll. We still have a few surprises up our sleeves, (did somebody mention MCs and DJs?)

And we're getting our 'face' out there in the internet world in an attempt to reach out to as many female graffiti artists as possible. If you have a facebook page, you should totally ADD US!! I promise we'll be friendly.

Hey there peeps... here's an update on how the show's flowing...

So far, for the exhibition on FRIDAY 23rd at COLD KRUSH...we have......drum roll please.....
ISHK, SPICE, POISE, ISIS, THORN, ADRI, KARA, NIKAS, METHO, JOSKE, INKLE, LOTUS, SEAR, IGASM, GENIE, INKKU, ERIN KATE, LOUNGE KAT, SILK, FLEUR, SAKAI, MEOWS... and the list is growing!
Don't forget to submit your expression of interest ASAP to the one and only Ladie Poise

Pretty impressive huh?

OK...and then on SATURDAY the 24th, we have the film festival.... presented by Mercury Cinema, a ladies night like no other! Screening feature films and shorts from around the globe, all containing female hip hop content. (PS. Friday night screening a wicked selection of hip hop films too!!)

Then there's SUNDAY 25th.. putting the final touches on the legal wall.. location yet to be announced. I've got a feeling there could be more than one wall!

LADIE KILLERZ is coming to Adelaide Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th April.

Join us Friday night at Adelaide's freshest hip hop store, Cold Krush for an exhibition featuring Australia's dopest female graffiti writers, tattooists and street artists. Followed by an after party at Zhivago's nightclub.

Saturday night, meet us at the Mercury Cinemas for straight up film styles, presenting a program of films showcasing female hip hop talent worldwide, then join us for a few drinks and party jams in the foyer!

Sunday, get ready to finish it off with a street party as the ladies put the finishing touches on a legal graffiti wall.

There's still a few more surprises up our sleeves, and we'll be sure to let you in on those as soon as everything's confirmed. In the meantime stay fresh and keep an eye on those LADIE KILLERZ!
